Trim Trail

We are excited to announce that the Council is providing and will maintain a new 8 piece Trim Trail for young people and adults along Centurion Way and on alongside the footpath to Long Lane and towards Crab Lane, Crossgates.

Centurion Way - Trim Trail Equipment and Layout Centurion Way - Trim Trail Equipment and Layout

Installation works begin later during the week commencing 3rd and/or by Monday 10 November for up to 2 weeks. Each piece of Trim Trail equipment is of high quality and mainly timber in construction. They will be sited in safety eco mulch surfacing in the grass, next to or close between the lighting columns along the footpaths, which remain on from dusk until midnight and come back on at 5am.

Our Contractor's compound will be sited off the parking ‘pull in’ with access gate, at the bend near the first houses on Centurion Way, where the footpath to Long Lane leaves Centurion Way | what3words pixel.chop.darker | NO PARKNG PLEASE! | We apologise for any inconvenience. | North Yorkshire Council's Parking enforcement team will cone off the 'pull in' just prior to our Contractors arriving on site and we will remove the cones immediately the installation is completed. This is to avoid the additional inconvenience and expense to residents' Council Tax of taking out a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO), which would be for a fixed period including a contingency for extra time if required due to poor weather etc and would remain in effect even if the works were completed before the order ended. We do not consider this necessary. However, if Parking proves to be a problem we will of course obtain the necessary TTRO and North Yorkshire Council will enforce it with Fixed Penalty Notices. In any case we will call the Police to enforce any obstruction.

Our contractor is likely to need to remove and make good sections of the wooden fencing, to access the site for installation.

Please also stay off the equipment until all of the installation is complete for your own safety and the future benefit of all.

The equipment and installation is being fully funded by Section 106 Commuted Sums for the provision of / improvements to public open space and sports facilities via North Yorkshire Council as the Planning Authority, from Linden Limited's Northfield Meadows development.

With thanks to our partner North Yorkshire Council and our provider Wicksteed Leisure Ltd.
