The Council is the Custodian Trustee for Seamer & Irton War Memorial Hall and Crossgates Community Centre, each of which is a Registered Charity with its own Management Committee of voluntary Trustees and booking arrangements. The Council was gifted and owns each of the properties in trust, and provides one of the Management Trustees to each Charity.
The Council maintains an officially registered village green, The Green, Main Street (0.4 acres), as a park for the use of residents incorporating a children’s playground, a playground and outdoor gym at the Recreation Ground site of Seamer Sports Association, and an outdoor gym on North Yorkshire Council's land at Crossgates.
The Council owns the former School House and School, each of which is leased; the School to Seamer & District Youth Centre.
The Council owns 106.34 acres of land, 9.6 acres of which is leased to Seamer Sports Association, 91.67 acres to agricultural tenants and 4.67 acres to 75 tenants of the Jubilee allotments.
The Council is currently working with North Yorkshire Council and partners to develop a Centurion Way Community Woodland on North Yorkshire Council's land at each side of Centurion Way, Crossgates, for which the outline plan is uploaded as a pdf file on this page, and can be opened and/or downloaded, below.
