  • two 30mph SLOW DOWN
  • two 40mph SLOW DOWN

SEAMER PARISH COUNCIL Vehicle Active Signs

Vehicle Activated Signs (VAS) enhance speed awareness raising, monitoring and enforcement within the Council's area through:

  • the Council’s quiet lane signage gateways at each end of Long Lane in Seamer and Crossgates.
  • the Council’s Community Speed Watch at Police approved sites in Crossgates.
  • Police safety camera vehicle enforcement on Main Street and Ayton Road, Seamer.
  • proactive static enforcement by local Police Officers in Seamer and Crossgates.

The VAS are moved between sites approximately every 6 weeks, as research shows that is how they remain most effective in raising drivers' awareness.
