Community Award
The Community Award for Seamer, Crossgates and Irton was presented on 13 June 2023 jointly to Seamer Parish Council and Irton Parish Council by North Yorkshire Councillor David Jeffels (thereafter Honorary Alderman of the Borough of Scarborough), as a legacy for his 17 years representing Seamer, Crossgates and Irton as Councillor for the former North Yorkshire County Council Seamer & Derwent Valley division.
It is awarded annually to a person living in Seamer, Crossgates and Irton who is considered to have made a significant contribution to life in the community.
It is presented jointly to the approved recipient on a suitable occasion eg at an assembly of a Parish Meeting or at a meeting of a Parish Council.
The next award will be announced at the Seamer annual Parish Meeting (Assembly) to be held on Tuesday 5 May 2026 at Seamer & Irton War Memorial Hall, Main Street, Seamer, Scarborough, YO12 4QD, commencing at 7.00pm.
It will be presented at the Annual Meeting of Seamer Parish Council to be held on Tuesday 12 May 2026 at Crossgates Community Centre, Curlew Drive, Crossgates, Scarborough, YO12 4TP, commencing at 7.00pm.
